With my Ace 250 I have found a small gold coin (see 'My Best Finds') also I have found a gold ring in my own back garden, not mine, but belonging to a previous owner.

All the best Mike.

When the Ace 250 latched on to the Gold ring found in my garden, it was not a strong signal, when I pinpointed it, it only reached about halfway up the scale. The location on my detector screen was one segment to the right of ring pulls.

All the best Mike.

Yes My 250 found a 10Kgold ring. Mine was a strong sound but when I pin pointed it was off to the side and not as deep.

Yes! Just today I made a post "ace finds a turtle" showing a 14K gold turtle earring. I stay in the relics mode when looking for gold. On this earring, I got a quick, short "foil" signal. Low discrimination is the key to gold as small rings show as foil and sometimes even "boop" in the relics mode indicating just above nail! The majority of rings can be found in the "jewelry" mode, but when I get into a tot lot or school ground, or for any place, for that matter, where there are great chances for rings or tiny jewelry-I use the relics mode. The sensitivity should be at  least #4 as some signals are weak. Rings show up from "relics" all the way to "coins".. The extra bonus of the relics mode is that a lot of target masking is avoided.

I also find the ...Relic Mode... the best as it knocks out only one segment, which is the worst of the iron, but if you get a trashy site then the ...Coin Mode... comes up trumps.

All the best Mike.

I have found very small gold earrings with my ace 250 with the stock coil the larger coil doesn't hit so good on small gold. The little coil hits good on gold in air test and my test garden . I like the ace 250 I have many detectors but find myself using this one more often when hitting school yards . I also keep this one with me in my truck just incase I get a bit of extra time to hunt.
