Garrett Master Hunter 7 and Treasure Mate

I recently purchased this Limited Edition 1984 Master Hunter 7 detector and it has Olympic logos and info on the box and coil.

Is this a collectors item?

Does anyone know the history of Garrett and the Olympics???
