NO-my suggestion would be carry an extra battery, when you think your'e around 15 hours of pinpointing, i never had one go dead on me, so I don't know Detecting

From the Pro-Pointer Owner's manual:

Audible Low Battery Alert?The battery condition of the PRO-POINTER is monitored continually.  When the battery becomes low, the detector will sound an alternating dual-tone alarm. This sound indicates that the detector's 9V battery should be replaced as soon as possible.
