Detecting The AT Pro is a good machine...it does a great job on ground balancing, especially in areas where you would otherwise have problems with hot rocks and background mineralization.

It is important with this machine not to scrub the ground, keep about a 1 inch gap for best results.

Would you say the new AT Pro is a good or bad choice for someone who is returning to detecting after a long absence (ie I will have to learn again as though a complete beginner).?

Hello There is a definite learning curve in pro mode, but standard is pretty straight forward....it is a really good machine.

It's like two machines in one.  I would recommend you start out in standard mode and work from there.

Check out some of the videos on the AT as well.
