Welcome from New Mexico.

Start with checking the Batteries again.

Check the Battery Leads.

Any Corrosion?

Wires all good.

Is the Coil Plugged in all the way?

let us know.

Welcome from Arizona.   Besides the things homefire said, make sure you've got the right type of 9 volt battery.  Some detectors can be very particular about batteries.   If the manual says Alkaline, then alkaline it is until you find out different.  Also make sure the battery is well seated (and if it is a drop in, make sure you dropped it in the right way....seems like a simple thing, but it happens occasionally...especially when you don't have to snap the battery into place).
