Boone county==Wooooo. I was born and raised there, actually born at home in Zionsville when the population was only bout 750 people, as kid would go to grain store, and get infights with farmers and their horse drawn wagons (fun fights) we would throw horse turds and they threw corncobs, was some fun old days-gone forever now, I think the grain building is oriental rug store, or art gallery now for the rich PLASTIC prople, Hey good hunting.
And just go round asking the neighboring farmhouses and whatever who owns or takes care of the property, around this area, there are thousands of acres owned by big corporations, like irving materiels and they just cash lease the ground out to farmers that farm usually 4 or 5 thousand acres, head offices are usually in new york, some are in Iran even, it's impossible to even get hold of anyone, so I usually just go ahead and detect the field, sometimes someone will ask what i;m doing-I tell them they just go their way, one field i detect, around 500 acres produces some interesting stuff, have never even seen anyone there, the corporation that owns it has an office about 20 mi away, just show up to plant and then to harvest-BIG operators.
My friend, which he says he is just small time nothing farmer farms 1600 acres that he has leased, and claims he is nothing and just barely getting by, many years ago a farmer could make a good living on 90 acres=but now- I dunno.
Enough=> have a good time and happy hunting.
