Amen for modern technical knowledge.  You have my blessing to print any of my old articles but I'll bet you that the collection is far from complete,  as I wrote under 5 different names. LOL Even my editor didn't know all my names... LOL I think I have a complete set of Treasure, from #1 Vol 1, on to finish,,, but they are packed away and in my present condition, I can't retrieve them.  Thanks, please let me know where I can see them after you scan them... You can also see some of my shooting video on "You Tube", just type in my full name.

No, I wrote a lot of articles for Treasure Search, Treasure Found and a few for Saga, Mother Earth News, and several others.

Isla Violin is at the north side of the mouth of Sierpe River, has a small flat area on the east end but starts up quickly to a steep slope. The trail has Razor grass hanging all along it. If you've never encountered it watch out, it can cut you to pieces. If it should touch you, stop quickly, instantly, and have your nearest companion carefully unhook you from it's clutches. The terrain is very difficult and tiring. I once started for the summit with 20 people and made it with 4. People were throwing up from the stress and falling out with exhaustion, including my Father. There are now a few residents scattered around the island.
The west side faces the ocean and has a number of caves, some are covered by the ocean, remember that the tide in this area at some times of the month can reach 12 to 14 feet. There is only 45 minutes when the pacific swell "lays down", allowing a calm window to access the caves and diving. I've been in most of the caves on the Island and have followed many leads provided by the local natives and believe me, there are many tall tails about this area.
There was a big gold dredging operation going on when I first visited the island in the late 1970's. They say that some 4 to 5 millions worth was recovered but I have my on theories, I never saw any dredged from there. I saw plenty of gold from the graves, one double crocodile weighed over 2 kilos. Yes kilos, not pounds. And Yes, we found gold in the streams on the Osa and some fairly nice nuggets. Some of you may remember the nuggets I had at the treasure convention in Deming NM. I had just returned from CR and had a number of nuggets, up to 4+ ozs. My biggest recovery was over $300,000.oo. Ha, good old days. But alas, most of the gold has been recovered and is illegal these days... The government put a couple thousand illegal miners in jail, in Golfito. There were so many that they had to make the local soccer stadium into a jail.. And several people got killed, it was like the wild west for a while.. LOL
Remember, REAL treasure hunting is HARD WORK. It takes a lot of study, research and effort.

Hello All

Richard Ray

Thank you for your interesting comments. Forgive me for being a little thick, I now understand why So many fall silent with collective amnesia about their presence there. Huh?

Luc--You posted the below quoted info. and --

Q1. I wondered exactly where you got this info. as I want to check the source. If you found it on the internet I would appreciate very much if you would please post or send me the link or search terms I need to use to find the info.

Q2. What do you mean by "German treasures"
Q3. Where did you get this info.?

I am researching this subject and have a serious interest in (and need to) consulting good sources of information.

I thank you in advance for whatever good information you supply.

THE TREASURE OF VIOLIN (COSTA RICA)

"""The treasure of the island Violin is mentioned in the old Indian legends of the tribe of Borucas. A Costa Rican, in former years war, would have discovered the hiding-place, but an ambush was tightened him and he was assassinated before having been able entirely to empty it. Nevertheless, several ancient assert having seen the eyes golden dishes or bars with which he had filled a big bag. Treasure would be in a tunnel the entrance of which would be located under the sea level...."""
