Was thinking of making some maps, but for searchers. I have the historical database from the US Gov of the Latitude Longitude of old features that are no longer on maps.
-------------
park
church
ppl (populated place)
locale (almost a town)
school
lake (swimming hole)
crossing (ford)
po (post office)
cemetery
flat
arroyo
summit
bridge
dam
spring
building
tower
stream
hospital
military
cape
airport
---------------

I could use a unique marker for each type used. Maybe 4-5 from the list above to try a few out. This is for anyplace in the US.

What do you think?

Looks like some pretty good work you've done there.  Definately an interesting hobby.  Your idea sounded great.  Keep up the good work and thanks for posting the maps.

Great Job!!! Something tells me you're a cartographer as you seem to have a lot of knowledge on maps.

No, just a hobbiest. The first book I ever read was 'Treasure Island' and have been searching ever since.
