the second picture is common carve stone of a foot print. its a travel or a stop sign, im not sure of the 1st and the third photo. again its a wild guess.

Posted on: September 01, 2011, 05:09:36 AM
the third looks like the back of a turtle with a head pointing somewhere. the last stone is a bit cryptic those sign makers are sometime a bit hardy. hahaha just another wild guess.

i can validate this cause they have the same markers anywhere in the philippines. they have the same design, might be diffrent artist but they have the same design, that is how they place, carve, acid etch stone markers. for places that have japanese incampment before the war ,they have a lot of time doin all this. but  near the end of the war loosing it is imminent, you will notice the markers the made are in haste. the concrete markers are on the stone are not acid etch but plastered concrete  drawn by finger tip, stick. anything that would remind them on there return. another wild guess from ,

the first photo are markers placed near tunnel entrances, and the last is pointing where the tunnel is. look for piled stones near the creek, concrete agregates on cliff wall. this all are landmark markers we still don't know whats inside those tunnel.or whats the inventory. it may just be another a gateway of a long tunnel complex that the imperial army sealed before evacuation. those people making these are very specific. they will draw these markers subtly to compliment the surrounding rock formation. better train your eyes on those. hahahha. another wild guess from,

hobgob

Based on the responses so far, I believe I'm in the majority when I say I can't really make out anything in these pictures.  These look like basaltic rocks for the most part.  Especially the 4th picture which looks like it had trapped air bubbles before the lava cooled.   It is very unlikely etchings of any kind would be on these rocks if they are basaltic -- this rock deteriorates quickly.  I apologize if you really see something on this rock, but it really just looks like lots of weathering rock to me.
