There is a large turtle symbol carved on top of a mountain called Twin Peaks east of the Salt Lake Valley.  On the mountain to the south of Twin Peaks is Lone Peak and it has 2 turtles on it with their back sides facing each other, which means the treasure is right up here on top between the two, and its not just one mine, there are many.

you ever hear that the size of the turttle is relevant to the size of the treasure?

Sounds kind of like a bluegrass hoe  down: turtles on the mountain, go boys go!  Can you hum a few bars?

However, it is seriously interesting. What about other mountains, in the vicinity?  Shocked

A lot of mountains are ancient lava domes, and may have hydrothermal deposits of gold.  Cool

Other mountains with turtles next to Twin Peaks is Lone Peak to the south and Mt. Olympus to the north.  The best time to look at the outline of the mountains is before the sun comes up.  Make sure someone else is driving.  Mt. Olympus, Lone Peak & Twin Peaks all have the "U" shaped entrance markers on them.  And they all have springs associated with them.  In 1950 three high school grads were hiking around Mt. Oly and found a cavern and went home to get rope and flashlights.  It took several trips for more rope but the cavern was 1,168 feet deep and they could go no farther because of water.  The size probably isn't a factor because turtles were carved into trees meaning TREASURE is near. The Twin Peaks turtle's rear end is aimed East to six created peaks which I believe means to go six land leagues East.  2.15 miles about to a land league, any way checking a map puts you parallel to Snowbird.  You can see the mine tailings from Google earth.  I personally haven't hiked up there.  But the easy way would be to drive up to Snowbird, park and hike up from there.
