Go Up Go Down

From the land of the Bluenose......as the song goes;
"I should have stayed at home in bed
Pillow wrapped around my head
Instead of waking up to find
A nightmare of a different kind."

Not really that bad but it did set this sleep depraved bouy back a tad meeting the brother of my deceased digging bud the Bardman. Picked the bouy up at the Bardman's estate and took him to where else......Tim's for a treat and talking to. Welcomed him to Canada as he is from Albert which every Maritimer knows is west and out of this country where they grow wheat, cattle, prairie oysters, oil and rednecks. Thinking of letting them join our country once they learn the difference between the head and tail of a cod so they can kiss the proper spot you and be screeched in proper like. The resemblance to Dave was uncanny as was the demeanour of this bouy who was now the proud owner of a MXT and Prism V that he inhereted as well as the "Metal Detectinitus Syndrome."

After a spell it was time to take Doug back to the estate and do a few errands and squeeze in a dig which I did starting in the woods out of the wind. Still can't believe that one can dig this time of year. While meandering purposely through the woods I was suddenly startled as this little white rat...too small to be a dog , sniffed around my leg and scared the halibut out of this bouy who was tuned into the Garrett Channel. Lady was very nice and we chatted for a spell and she went on her way up the path as her dog sniffed and watered a few trees.

Finds were few so I moved to a new location so that my fix was within reach. Man if I had said the word "fix" at the ball field I had dug earlier in the week I would have had a stampede of bouys offering me a nickel bag at deep discount prices!

The ground was soft in some areas of the field while other spots took some intestinal fortitude and my slim 230 pounds of torque applied to the knife to cut a plug. Other then the occasional dog running around trying to mate with my furbie it was a nice uneventful quiet dig. End result for the day was a dog tag (hope he is in doggie dew heaven), a watch (took a licking and is not clicking), a tie pin of the town clock in Halifax, a Girl Guide pin stating ..."Be Prepared", a locked lock and 52 coins @ $8.65
<?center>

On the way home I picked up some Mays Chineese food for Marie and a darn hitch hiker...Bud! Thats another story!

Great story and pics bluenoser. Your area seems paved with finds, or do you have the first detector in 20 square miles? Grin
