I went out to a new park today with my 8 month old baby girl just for a quick romp around with the detector. After bring there for about 10 minuets and only finding iron a police car pulls up and they had no problem with me detecting but someone called thinking I was burying my baby :s. After explaining it to them and then running my name they let me continue on. What a misconception lol

Definitely leaves one with mixed feelings.   On one hand, at least someone cared enough to call the police.   On the other hand, it's hard to believe that there are still people out there with that little exposure to metal detectors.
