Just had a quick question I am new too this I have an ace 250 with a stock coil and have the opportunity to purchase a sniper coil. Is that a good decision? And also are they waterproof as well? Thanks for the info in advance.

My wife got an ace package deal a couple of years ago, came with 3 coils, and the sniper coil was one of them.  I have not used it yet, but I have read on this site and others as well, that the sniper coil is excellent in areas with a high trash content, and around metal  poles as well.  Hope this helps a little,

Best of luck,
Bill

Bill gave it to you straight.   I may leave my larger than stock coils at home on occasion, but I NEVER go anywhere without my sniper coil (especially when I'm taking an overnight trip)....if nothing else, they let work in under the overgrowth a lot easier.

A sniper coil is a brilliant addition to your arsenal for certain. In fact, however, it's rare to NEED it but when you do, it is worth its weight in gold. Remember, though, that your depth is reduced significantly with a sniper. It's mostly for penetrating between other targets that mask your treasure.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
