Go Up Go Down

Located a boarded up chuch and detected it for about 20 minutes with my 250 and snipper coil. it must be an eary 1900'S
chuch.there must have been about 100 iron targets in one area. How do i get the deeper coins? do i have to remove all the trash or do
i discriminate higher? there must be some silver. I also have the standard and 9 x12 coil.

I also have a Vaquero in my garage which has never even been turned on. Any advice would be appreciated.

No really big trees, only a small one. it's 3 building and between two of them there is a lawn about
30' x 50' and other grassy also . Do you think the vaquero would do better than the ace? I have not used Vaq yet and since i have
very little hunting time i use the Ace 250 it's Quick and easy.

Looking for my first silver i think this might be a good spot.

I have a similar site I'm working now. Its an old house with junk all around it. cans bottles bed steads you name it. It took about 30 minutes to get it cleared enough I could swing my 250. As expected the ground is full of iron. there was no single signal anywhere. I dug a few bottle caps found a 1914 dime and a 1952 penny and then it started raining. It looks promising enough When I go back I'll "dig the area out" that is dig up the top 10 inches and go over it with a probe and sieve. Its slow but you will find its' less frustrating than digging it out one bad target at a time. Once you have dug out the top 10 inches you can get down in the hole with the detector and find old targets if there are any.

Epi,

Listen buddy, you have found a very good site. Churches had so much outside activities going on all the time. Spend a lot of time on this one, dig every thing. The ground takes the stuff down then brings it back up again. Dig it all man--DIG IT ALL. I spent 3 years hunting an old boy scout camp, I would pick an area and dig up all the trash, and boy did I start finding the deep stuff. Used to take the whole family, a big picnic basket, and we would make a fun weekend of it. Go for the Gold HOMBRE.

Using the sniper you will not get much depth compared too the 9/12 coil on a side note i would take the vaquero to the church
