Been waiting on the postman. Finally got my ebay purchase. The detector was'nt exactly ready to shoot. A few resoldered spots, some corrosion cleaned off and new batteries was the ticket. It's working as good as anyone might expect for a 30 year old tr machine. Went out to back yard and fired it up,late in the afternoon. Found lots of hits. Although i did'nt find the Grail yet,i'm able to offer enough building material to nail together an aluminum house! I'll be back. My regards to all Metalsavage.

I don't know a single detectorist that hasn't at least thought about opening a hardware and/or junk store.   Smiley    But hey, you know the thing works, and the more junk you dig up the last junk you have to get through to get to the good stuff.

Hi, BA, Gotta love it! So far i still have'nt checked to see how deep this thing goes, but i like the learning process. Got two more metal hunters coming in the mail. One is a working VFL Fisher 551D [looks new] $23.00 and the other a good condition whites 4000D [$62.00]. Starting to look at 5900di pro sl and 6000 pro sl. Pretty much the same. Soon i'll have one for all my hands. Good Hunting

I have been away from metal detecting for quite a while.  I just decided to get my detector out last week and worked my back yard and the neighbors yard.  I am using an old garrett groundhog that I bought in the eighties.  It still works well and I have found several coins and some eating utensils.

I always liked mding and hope to continue with this machine.

The old ones still work and are fun to use.

Hi, it's good to hear for you. I have been away from the forum awhile, and have acquired a couple more detectors that are really go getters. A whites 4900D pro plus and a 5900 di pro sl [cb] version. These things can almost detect ants! I've been researching some of the ghost towns and lost treasures like unfound loot from stage coach and bank robberies here in Arizona. Hundreds of stories that have fact based legends. Me and a couple thousand others! Many locations are 2-4 hours away. Happy hunting.
