Pulltabs here as well.  Unless I'm in an area that specifically prohibits alcoholic beverages....then it seems like I find more beer caps than pull tabs.  Go figure.... Shocked

That is an old photo I came up with.

I used to be very frustrated with pull tabs,,. I
I would be a lier if I said that they do not
frustrate me sometimes still.

But, I have grown to appreciate them, simply
because they are so frustrating that goodies
are left behind for me to find.

It is like one of those annoying friends that is
so loyal ya just caint get rid of um.

We talk about pull tabs and bottle caps as though they
were tha hardest thing we have to contend with.

What is tha thing that actually keeps us from finding
what we would like to find?

I think that may actually be iron....  Shocked

Most of us do not think that much about. It is easier to
discriminate out than pull tabs or bottle caps.

But, little do we realize, when we use that disc, the
double response, or tha garbled response that we would
have gotton from a masked target is now silent, or just
a cherp we ignore.

The disc took away any chance of finding that silver dime
or gold ring, or what ever it was that got masked.

If you can get around iron, you can find stuff that others
have missed. Even if they were using high end machines.

I do it with my low cost machines. I work at just that.

I also dig a lot of pull tabs and bottle caps.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Pull tabs and bottle caps represent human occupation. Sometimes they are inebriated humans and that makes them less able to notice when they drop things of value. Wherever you find them, you find good stuff sprinkled in between. You might not like it but those are facts (otherwise known as rings) that Tabdog and I find when we dig them. I dig a pull tab, look at it and drop it on the right side of my finds pouch. For every twenty or so that I dig and recheck the hole, I come up with a prize - just like in a Cracker Jacks box. So you guys who hate them, just go over them. Leave them for me.

Back in the 1970s, I found a pull tab shaped piece of Sterling Silver jewelry on a silver chain. Looked just like a pull tab but solid silver. Gave it to one of my girls and forgot about it until this thread came up. Found it in Virginia Beach at Mt Trashmore.
