Choosing Your First Metal Detector?

Your first metal detector will be the most important metal detector you ever purchase. So it's important you choose the right metal detector. This may seem a bit overwhelming, or confusing with the number of metal detectors being sold online and in stores today.

Quite true it took me a little over 6 months to pick my first one which was a Garrett GTI 2000.  I have used that one from 1998 to now, an just recently bought a minelab excab II.  Dont rush into something you see, because of a good deal, research, research an more research, then you will know that you made the right choice for your needs Smiley

Hello Everyone . What I suggest is , do not buy the cheapest Metal Detector you can find , spend the most you can afford to start out , at least a mid-priced machine that has good depth and discrimination . Then you will start out finding the good stuff and not dig up too much garbage . Check Craigslist closest to where you live for a used machine Like Tesoro or Whites . Many good "used machines" are listed in the $200 dollar range . There is my suggestion , others are welcome to comment here !!
