All I use is a mild liquid soap and warm water and maybe a soft toothbrush. Sometimes if you take the tarnish off, it kills the value, so they tell us on antiques road show.

how do you clean your finds?

Which finds?   Are we talking relics, coins, jewelry, or what?   And if we are talking coins, are we talking coins that have collectible value or are we talking common date clads?
You're not going to clean the knife you found the same way you clean the 1977 quarter nor are you going to clean the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter the same way you clean the 1977 quarter.

By the way, we have a whole board dedicated to "Cleaning, Preservation & Storage".   You'll find lots of tips and tricks there that you can use no matter what type of find you want to clean.   To find the board, go to the home page, then scroll down to "Research and Techniques"  You'll find the board right under "THunter' How To"
