But shouldn't the label read Assembled in the USA instead of made in the USA?   :Smiley

yes, and legally there is a difference between Made In the USA and Assembled In the US.   For more, you can start here:

If that's true then there are a lot of companies doing some false advertising. Probably not going to change anyway. We used to have a Dell Computer factory not to far from here. They didn't make anything, only assembled parts from other places. They closed down. A lot of people became unemployed.

After a lengthy legal battle, New Balance is finally labeling their shoes as "Made in China"; that was an interesting case to study. The FTC does not have any system of policing manufacturers when it comes to "Made in the USA" markings, and rely on information/complaints from the public at large.

Rummaged thru my hard drives and found the FTC guidelines on this matter (see attachment).

Well Heres a curely one for you, Right if we make garden chairs from timber from over seas is that
still made in the U.S.A.,

And although they are American Companies, ( but the parts are made over seas ) and then shipped back to the US
are they then made in the U.S.A. .

When I went to colledge a couple of years Back (21)? I asked the question and was a car Australian of foreign,
My Tutor said Australian, well I said the Tyres are Korean, the lights are mead in Germany, the steel was recycled from
old steel sent to Japan from OZ and shipped back as new and the Plastics were also imported from Asia.
And all other parts from where ever and that seemed to make everyone think twice when they were putting down
other cars

So I believe we can say If it is a US company contracting someone else to make the parts and it is shiped back to the U.S.A
then assembled then yes it's made it the U.S.A  ,

But if it is made and assembled overseas then no it has no right to say Made in the U.S.A .

AU

I Have'nt told many folks this so i'll tell those who read this that I wrote a Report on one of my machines
2 weeks ago and within 24hrs Whites sent me a new Bag for my detector and a new pinpoint probe valued at $170.00.
And i still am shocked and touched by them for being so Nice,  What a Fantastic Company.

 Detecting

XP is a French company. They make the wireless MD called Deus, and others.

Metal detectors are made in France, in Toulouse.

Oli
