I'm familiar with the big detector makers like tesoro, garrett, white, minelab and so on.
I'm told that the detector company's in the U.S.is the main distributor of detectors worldwide."and I don't know how true that is"  Cheesy

I was just wondering if there is any companies that make detectors in other countries? and if so,from which country? and the company's name?

I really have no clue to this and I'm very interested in seeing what's out there in the rest of the world..

Thank you in advance for any replies....  Wink

England and France have some machines that are quite good.

I think the Germans and Belgium have a few as well.

Minelab?

Minelab is definitely a NON-US company as our Australian members will no doubt be very quick to tell you.    Tesoro, Garrett, Fisher, and Whites all have their roots in the United States.   Whether any of them have plants outside the US, I don't know although one could probably find that info on the web if one really felt the need.

White's are made in the US,    Fisher, bounty Hunter are part of another big American company but I can't remember the name

MineLab are made in Asia and shipped around the world so it's no wonder they have started being copied and this is only due to

having too many links in the chain so somewhere from start to finish these things are being copied.

Tesoro make the detectors for the UK market under the Brand name Laser, but they are tuned to suit UK conditions

but the over all product is the same as you would expect from Tesoro which is about as good as it gets But Tesoro are

also sold in the UK for those who want that Name on their machine and those tune up specs

Garrett I'm not sure where their Products are made. Still good machines and the CSI series like using them on their show

First Texas Products makes Fisher, Bounty Hunter, and Teknetics (as well as some night vision products if any one is interested ).  They are based out of El Paso, Texas.

Garrett manufactures its detectors in Garland, Texas

Whites is in Sweet Home, Oregon

Tesoro is in Prescott, Arizona

Minelab started in Australia, but has expanded to various locations throughout the world

Whether any or all of these companies have factories located outside the United States or use parts manufactured outside the US, I don't know.  (although I'd be willing to bet that the answer to the "use parts manufactured outside the US" is "yes" for all).

OKM is made in Germany
Nokta Engineering and Macro Grup: Turkey
Micron, Deeptech, Vivax and a slew of other are made in Bulgaria

If you wish to see lesser-known detector manufacturers, surf to

and run a search by country. There's tons there but do not be tempted by the low-priced name-brand machines there, some sellers can be dodgy.
