I seem to remember vaguely seeing something like that when I was a youngster. Think it might have been to do with the cubs or early scouting days on they're nature rambles, I'm almost sure there was some kind of simple process for covering leaves with a fine coating of copper.
But that was many hundreds of years ago in my past.
I suppose I was lucky not to damage it during the dig, as it's very fragile.
We've been getting a lot of heavy rain and very strong winds recently, so it's kinda stopped us getting out for a while. We're just waiting for the right day to get hunting again.

I'm kind of surprised it's in as good of condition as it it. Copper oxidizes quite rapidly in the elements so yours came out pretty good. Very interesting find.
