I have a ccp from Oregon and one from Utah. They are recognized in about 32 states. Sometimes I pack a .45 ACP with extra clip. Especially if I'm going into the woods where the Cougars and Bears and now, the Canadian Gray Wolves roam around here (N.E. Oregon).

I've never had an encounter where I've been approached under the circumstances you describe, Bomber. Mostly just individuals full of curiosity. But I have had a couple of menacing appearing individuals stand back and watch me. I alway make a point to get out my digging knife and flash it around a little when that happens. By the way, I think you should carry the BIG digger with you, just in case! Detecting

thinking bout getting getting something small to carry,a 25 maybe.was talking to a buddy who's a cop,he told me its better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6
