could have got ugly

went out with a neighbor on sat(hes never gone hunting,total newbi)went to a sled hill where i've done pretty good.we're on top of the hill when two guys showed up(not the best part of town),then two more and then four more(8 guys total)they all new each other and kept eyeballing us and our gear.one guy comes towards us and asks what do we find with those machine?gold watches?diamonds?.......i laugh and say nothing but change and pop tops,he now walks back yo his buds.now i pull out the lesche and just swing it back n forth while tecting.he comes back again and asks are those expensive machines?......i laugh again and say radio shack specials 30 bucks apiece(i'm carrying a DFX and my buddy has my ace250.hes walks back to his buds again.i know something is probably about to happen and wondering if my lesche could stop a bullet....no it can't.i keep watching them never backing down.now he back to us(the whole group is bout 15 feet from us just watching) and asks if i could give em a ride to the next town over(now they're eyeballing my truck also). sure how bout if i just give ya my truck keys and atm card(f 'ing punks!)i tell him to forget about it cause we just got there all the well showing him that digger.he goes back to his buds and they start talking in low tones,i tell my bud to work his way down the hill towards the truck,when hes get down the hill i work my way down while watching them .lucky that was it but i sure it could have gone completely south if we showed any fear at all.on the way home my bud says he definatly thought that at least one of us would have been in the hospital for sure if not something worse.i might have gone to the hospital but i would have taken at least two or three with me(i keep my diggers sharp).....never back down or show fear

believe he's done,when we got back it was the talk of the neighborhood for most of the evening.he kept saying "i never thought metal detecting was dangerous" he was diffenatly spooked.first time i've ever ran across something like this.they might have gotten away with something but it would have cost them dearly.........freakin punks
