It has been a couple of weeks since I visited the sand pit in a local park. Today was about the things I have discovered in previous posts and alterations I have made to the detector and myself. Completely changed the way the cable leaves the coil - Now it goes from the left side of the coil to the right side of the stem and commences winding about 5-6" from the coil. Seems to have a few less false alarms. I am now just about a complete left hander which has made digging and scooping easier. Not much luck detecting however, foil seems to vary so much it took up to 3 bars of discrimination. A few too many to eliminate. Not worried about the finds, it is the experience I'm after - getting to know the detector.
