Hello
Finding the illusive coin and gold nugget is the challenge and although I have had some success nothing to date is really spectacular.  I guess it is like fishing some days you do well and others you get plenty of exercise.  I have tried parks, beaches and the Sierra mountains gold areas, streams, rivers and even high-banking.  The results are fair to poor in most cases yet right next to me the other guy gets a nice big nugget!  Go figure.

There have been plenty of coins on the beach and some jewelry but again nothing outstanding or truly vintage valuable.  My arm gets tired swinging maybe I need detectors in my shoes. Have fun detecting.

Hey, Bobber.   Welcome to THunting.com.   Only 3 suggestions I can give you are:
1)  Don't let yourself get discouraged (if you start to get discouraged figure out a way to make that particular outing positive, such as concentrating on technique)
2)  Spend some time reading through the posts in the different THunting.com boards.   They have lots of good tips.  Maybe one of them will spark an "ah Ha!" moment for you, followed by a Eureka! moment when you get out to the field and apply it.
3)  Keep swinging-----like anything else, the more you practice (and the more you prepare mentally), the better you get.
