Hi all, i just bought my 10 year old a tesoro compadre, my wife a lobo st, and i am looking at the white's v3i. We are all new to detecting, and hoping to make this a full time hobby. Not sure if the white's is the one i want. Any take or experience with this particular detector would be helpful. Thanks

You have picked some good detectors and the Whites is also a good detector. I don't want to tell anyone what to buy but in your case I will make a suggestion. You have 2 Tesoro stick with Tesoro but if you want something different look at the Garrett and Fisher lines before you decide.

And Welcome to thunting . com

Seldom's right....and you picked a super detector for the wife---not only will she find coins, jewelry, and relics with it, but if she spends the time getting good at it and she hunts in the right place she'll get gold too.

Killer machines dude, I don't have experience on them, but would own any of em. I got my eye on a fisher this year. It takes a lot of hours to learn a machine, and I am always surprised when I learn something new. Good Luck.

Hi there and welcome, and yep Seldoms right on that score, you might find the V3i is a great machine but if you want gold that Lobo
is a killer and the V3i has a heck of a learning curve. just enjoy those machines and dig baby dig

metal detector is great when you are looking for treasure, but if you don't have them you can make your own too

Whites V3i & DFX

Whites V3i is one awsome machine right out of the box, it has several programs which can be used as is or they can be modified to suit your area and method of hunting.  I would suggest locating a dealer for some face to face information and demonstrations on the V3i and the other E series detectors before making a decision.

Fisher F4

Go Up Go Down

I just got a V3i 3 days ago.  It took the place of my Fisher F4.  I must say.  It is a blast to use.  It works great right out of box, yet it is also very programable.  I have not used but the two detectors in the field, so I couldn't really say about the others.  Like you, I researched the internet.  I found it hard at times to get good unbiased reviews.  Eventually I visited my local dealer.  He helped a lot!  I was tossing between the E-trac, V3i, and F-75.  I got to pick them up.. Swing them and get advice about the local area.   He also gave me a great deal.   Bottom line,  look for a dealer in your area and play with the different units you are thinking about buying.
