SAVO TREASUREMASTER
« on: April 05, 2010, 09:13:41 am »
Go Up Go Down

I have just come in from the garden after my first attempt with my "new" SAVO (WHITES) TREASUREMASTER. Although this MD is about 30 or 40 years old it works very well. I tried to get used to the tuning and managed to get a few positive contacts, dug a few holes with no success and then it happened. A strong signal. I dug just below the surface and there it was, probably the most important find in the history of Metal Detecting. Having achieved this fantastic feat I came indoors to examine my treasure properly and clean it up. Please don't say I should not have cleaned it so well as I could have damaged this ancient artefact but I did. Anyhow the upshot is that I cannot wait to go out searching again when I get some spare time although I now have to come up with some excuse for my dear lady wife as to the damage to the lawn (probably caused by a local critter). Look at attached photos and weep. We all can't have success and luck like mine.
P.S. The metal object is the find not the tape measure, that's just for scale. Mad Mad

I'm glad the detector is working.......you're first find is more impressive than mine was.   I  expect it is only a matter of time before you have items that will even impress your lovely wife.

Hi BA, Great to hear from you. I don't know what to do with all the money I'll get when I sell it on the world market. What was your first find? Laurence, my wife (she is Swiss) is very impressed and even surprised that I found anything at all and would like a new car from a small part of the profits. Yours, John.

If memory serves, my first find was either a piece of aluminium foil or a bottle cap.     Since them I have found many bottle caps, a lot of pulltabs from cans, enough nails to build a good-sized house, but rarely foil.   Smiley

Nice find! All the excitement in imagining that huge treasure from your first signal is a wonderous thing  Smiley

The other day I went out on the hill expecting to find some old bandit gold buried there. I found foil and a tin can and an old battery instead. Maybe next time! Grin
