Expect lots of trash (i.e. metal siding fragments, cans, etc) so if you have a small coil, take it with your.  Be sure you have proper permission, and take care not to damage structures.   You'll find some interesting relics and possibly some nice coins.

do some eye balling also, saw a show awhile back bout a guy checking out a ghost town.he was looking thru a shack and spotted an old pair of bluejeans(levis).turns out that pair of jeans was one of the oldest to be found.from what i got, levis had a fire (1800s?)and lost all there jeans plans/blueprints/patterns.this pair was made before then.don't remember how much he got but it was well worth it to pull that crappy pair of jeans out of that shack ...........just checked, the jeans might sell for $35,000 Shocked Shocked Shocked

If those Locations are on Federal, State or Forest lands, don't be forgetting about the 1906 antiquities act!

A square nail can cost you big bucks.

You don't have that specific law, but I'm pretty sure you have some similar antiquities law (or laws).    The point is make sure you check and if there is such a law, be prepared for some rather capricious applications/interpretations of it.

(and if you do go, eyeballin' is important....most glassware won't turn up with a detector any better than a pair of Levis.)
