if I were you though I would just figure away to earn some money and buy the best one I could afford to buy. Thats the most for sure way to get one.

with out spending any "out of pocket" cash -- here is a simple way to "earn"  your self a free detector ---save up scrap aluminum cans * that folks often litter with --put the money "saved" by cashing the cans in at a recycler into a jar -- when enough say 30 bucks or so ---- then try this use the can money to coin roll hunt * aka as CRH by some folks by buying rolls of coins at a bank --- get a few rolls of dimes or quarters --search thru them for 1964 or earlier (90% silver coins) if you find one pull it out and replace with a 1965 or older one * and return the "searched" rolls  getting bills to buy more rolls of coins with  --repeat the process often --  after you get nice batch of silver coins take the silver coins and cash them in at a coin dealer yeilding a "profiet" replace the whatever you got "invested" coin value wize and then use your profiets made to buy a detector  -- currently a silver quarter ( with about $5 in silver in it)  will get you about 10 -12 x its face value or  2.50 - $3 each and dimes with about $2 worth of silver will fetch between 1.00 to 1.20 each at most coin /metal dealers - (not pawn shops!!! never do bussiness with them)--- when coin roll hunting --you can not lose anything since all that you got "invested" in it is the face value of the coin --which the dime or quarter will always be worth -- so even if silver were to some how fall to "0" in value - which is about impossilbe  * -- because of the coins"face value" it will always be worth the 10 or 25 cents you got tied up in it --so instead of begging for "free stuff" ( a hand out) to be given to you  -- try  learning to hustle a bit and in the process learn how to earn from a I got nothing  "0" money starting point to how to make something "happen"-- thats the art of hustling --being a go getter and thinking "outside" the box -- once mastered you can be your own man -- never having to beg or ask others for squat.

Quite simple. If you think you found something made of metal. Take it and hit your head with it. If it hurts then it was likely made from metal ... or you may also be looking at a Yamashita stone marker. But don't worry! You don't need any brain left to read the markers. Treasure is just everywhere! Just start digging
