Couple years ago, in 04, elderly gent i asked if i could detect his property, BEAUTIFUL house built in the 1700's, complete with fountains, on the natl register of historic places, thought i'd ask anyway, he said sure ,just show me how to use one o them detecter thingies, sooo, i showed up with 4 detectors, let him take his pick, he took Tesoro Euro, cause it was purty, right off he found a derringer ball near his front porch then a pair of silver suspender clips, i found few old coins, he had the time of his 80 yr old life, showing his wife and all, really thrilled, as i was leaving (after having coffee and homemade muffins) he grabbed my left wrist and said you don't have a watch, told him didn't need one, WELL by golly you do, he dissapeared into another room, came back and put a beautiful watch on my wrist, NOW YOU GOT A GOODUN , i thanked him for the gift, and all the way home i'm all over the road looking at this watch, trying to figure what kind it is, it's so purty, well got home looked up TAG HEUER up, on the internet, and immediatly i was bombarded with $ offers, it was a new one, worth $3200.00, never even worn, one guy sent me a offer for whenever i want to sell $1650.00 no questions asked.
WOW what a gift, here's a pic, i remember them at Christmas, and even gave them one of my wifes rarest teapots Grin

WOW did i hear about that, it was her oldest made in 1700, but the folks were happy as i am, and will always be whenever i look at it in my curio cabinet, i just can't wear it, it means too much.

Hey Bugar, I love your story and all but I can't help wondering when you are going back there again? Shocked

You obviously didn't hunt the whole place in that one little trip. I certainly do not think it would be out of line to grab your spare Euro and head over there to see if the ol' boy would like to give 'er another go. Cool

Places like his don't come up every day, so you should try to make hay while you can, especially after he's proven to you that he did indeed enjoy your company and his time with you TH'ing.
