My wife loves to sit in a deck chair and watch. She always brings along a book to read and sometimes her easel with drawing paraphernalia. The dog is always welcome and has unbridled curiosity about everything.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

My wife is expecting me to find a diamond ring so she is there to make sure she gets it.

My wife goes with me most of the time. We switch off during the day. Sometimes I will dig while she searches.

KD, Yes my wife goes along as well.  You know what the say... Woman do so much better then us because we always want to see whats over the next hill. (Cover alot of land) And women seem to only cover about 20 yards or so in a outing because they have the right idea to cover every piece of dirt.  I have a P.I. and I got her the Gold Bug 2. They work very well together, Like a married couple should LOL.  anyway she says I really bought the GB 2 for me as well.  Hmmmm I think she is right but I wont tell her that!!!! LOL

I think you're right in most cases, but when it comes to my spouse and me, I am the one who is methodical and only covers 20 yards while she's flittering from hither to you-------and she STILL out does me.  Angry

HAy BA , maybe there is some method to her madness!
I know its slow and methodical is the way to go but if something else gets the results its worh looking into it. Then again it mite just be a personal technique   Cool

yeah, Sometimes I try to keep an eye on her hoping to pick up a tip or two, but I'm having a hard time telling if she's following a butterfly or trying to avoid the most likely places for snakes (first time she sees one of those, even a garter, I'm out a hunting buddy).      The other times, I'll start my search, and when I look up she's way over on the other side of the field, and then I look up again and she's across the road on this side.

Pdog23, I heard a PI will interfer with the regular LF detectors. Do you find that to be the case
