Welcome from New Mexico.

8 meters is a tall order for any metal detector.

A PI detector may work for freight car size targets at that distance.

As for the Cave thing,   Check into Induced Polarization :

Are you trying to find a cave are a metal cache in a cave?

If your looking for a hidden cave you may want to look into GPR. If its metal in a cave like Homefire said unless its as big as a train you not going to have much luck at 26 feet.
