I've found some oddball finds over the years. Over 25 years of detecting allows you to find some stuff you just wonder about. I was detecting the beach one time and found a nice stool of heavy aluminum-it was about a hundred yards away from a casino in Biloxi, MS. Apparently the stool was tossed from casino at some point in time. I was detecting Pascagoula, MS beach and found a block of wood. When I picked it up I found out it was a fake plastic hideaway container with a crack pipe inside it--needless to say, that find got tossed away quick-ha! I found an old metal detector-a military mine detector when I was serarching along in leaves and grass near an old dump. How about that-found a detector with a detector. I found a finial of the type used on old graveyard fences when I was using my 1280-x near a pascagoula mississippi beach. I found an old metal tuning peg that once was part of a banjo or guitar while searching a big field near Monroeville, AL. Searching an old home site near my boyhood home, I found a secrtion of an  old Octagon rifle barrel. On another hunt at the same site, I found a gun hammer from an old black powder gun-maybe the same gun with the octagon barrel. I've also found a few "Whatsits" that I havent id'd yet...I'd be interested in hearing about other member's strange finds...

Well....strangest fine for me would have to be a WWII Anti-Tank round in the neighbors yard, in the US.  56mm M86.  That was a unexpected find for me.
