JETCO & WHITE
« on: February 13, 2010, 11:33:43 pm »

This detector is my second. My first is a white. I can't seem to find any operating instructions on how to use it. It is a lot lighter than the white which uses a lot of c batteries and is a little heavy. Any comments?

Jetco made horribly cheap machines.  I had one.

I have to admit that I actually found my first gold ring with it!  About a quarter-inch below the surface in my back yard.

But its effective depth is about an inch, and you are wasting your time trying to detect with it because you are missing just about everything you'd find with another detector.

BFO technology has been obsolete for 35 years, and it wasn't even a good BFO machine then.  Hang that thing on the wall of your den, and use a modern detector.  You won't be sorry.

I bought a Jetco in 1972 and found lots with it  but in 1972 there were only 2 md in Galveston. My buddy had a Garrett and out dig me every time so I bought a Garrett still a BFO but my finds increased by 50%. I still have and use a Garrett BFO for relic hunting.
Dans right hang it on the wall don't think  it will pay for is own battery's

Gizmo, mine was a Mustang, too.  I did soup it up:  I added a volume control and a headphone jack.

It didn't get any more depth, but it silenced the speaker and was no longer a kid magnet.
