Hi all, My son has got himself a Laser B1 Hi Power detector with no user manual. Does anyone know how to set it up for pasture land or know where I can get a copy of the manual.
                                                                   Thanks, simon444  Smiley

In 1991 Tesoro made the Diablo 2, the Silver Sabre 2, the Stingray, and the Laser B1 which was produced to another company’s specifications for the European market. You might try looking at the Tesoro Silver Sabre manual think the controls are the same.

Yes Seldom is Right.   I think there was a Freq Difference due to the 50Hz in the UK.

It has to do with coin sizes and mass, not the 50hz. Australia has different detectors for the same reason.

Now you tell me. So a detector bought in the USA will give false info in SA and in other words I should get a detector with no display.

If you want any info on the B1 you need to get on to Rogers Relics and the Laser/Tesoro people over here in the UK and ask to speak to FRANK MELLISH as he is the guy who is responcible for the Mods from the Tesoro becoming the Laser, He is in London somewhere ,

hope this helps, AU

False coin ID, yes. But then, we don't use discrimination - most of us, that is. The detectors I used in Australia all came from the US and I still found coins. Lots of them. Buckets full of them.

The differance between Laser and the Tesoro's are the Laser's have a wider disc band/spectrum because alot of the old coins over here come up  at alot lower disc setting than the older Tesoro's could go and the frequencies were also tweaked, But saying that the later Tesoro's are now tuned the same way so there is little or NO differance between them,

Actually this discussion has put new design ideas in my head and some are quite interesting ones. Like I will use a battery state indicator but no display, I will emphasize more on audio using DSP I also don't think that I will have any discrimination as that will be achieved by the user using the audio. I would also make it programmable so that you could have a specific audio signal for a gold ring or silver coin (I possibly would need a display then). What do you guys think?
