has anyone had any type of dealings with this company ?? In particular the rover walking stick metal detector. ??
Their add showed at the top of our main page on the google ad spot , and I was intrigued as I walk with a cane most of the time.

Metal detectors from OKM

The Rover UC metal detector is disguised as a walking stick and allows searching in areas where you couldn't with common detectors. Without arousing public interest and getting curious looks, you can scan places you never could scan before. The length of the trekking pole can be adjusted individually because of its telescopic mechanism and is equipped with an integrated FM radio. Thus the Rover UC metal detector is usable as a functional multimedia-based hiking stick to bring its camouflage to perfection. Due to modern processors and energy-saving components two standard AA batteries are enough to supply the full power of the detector.

Karl, quite simple: These guys are scammers in my oppinion and their products are either not working and / or way overpriced. It's a shame they advertize their stuff saying "Made in Germany". OKM is in my oppinion one of the worst companies out there next to Fitzgerald etc.

Regards,

Christian

WOW, Thanx. This needs to lead the site,, It was the first thing I saw when I logged on tonight and I went to their site to check it out! I thought it sounded kinda cool in a iffy sort of way!    Police
Since it really does look fishy, how are they going to make us believers? I had heard of something like this a year ago I guess but it seems unbelievable,  see them find statues and a glass something or other, bottle maybe?

Ground penetrating radar in a cane! lol

Thank's Christian ; that's what I was afraid of.  I kind of figured that was going to be the case.
that sucks cause it is a neat idea.

Oh well sure hope someone else picks up the idea and makes it work.

The concept is neat, but even if they pulled it off it seems to me the range would be trivial making it a very expensive toy.

BA this is true but for someone like me who walks with a cane 99% of the time it would be nice then I could metal detect and only have one stick to hold !

Karl, I'd have plenty of use for it....If it really did perform the way it is supposed to.   Who is going to take a cane or a walking stick away from a hiker?

ROVER BY OKM  ONE PRICEY PIN POINTER
I absolutely believe it's a very pricey Stick!!. $12,999.99 on sale at Kellyco.com  Now,maybe KellyCo believes in it, I don't know?...I would suggest you call them since they carry it, I would be very interested in knowing how many of these $13,000 sticks they have sold!!
But my question would be "Why is it you have to T-hunt under cover". Do you have to be that Secretive or are you Metal Detecting somewhere you shouldn't be?? When you make that find are you going to come back and dig it up like a thief in the dark?  The whole thing sets a bad presidents if you ask me. Granted there are individual out there that don't want others knowing they have found a hot spot but come on people, in this day and age of technology you could outfit 10 premium websites for that price and make a whole hell of lot more money. It's just a matter of time and someone else will come up with the same technology for a much more realistic price. I think I would have a hard time justifying paying $13 grand for a Glorified Pin Pointer.

Happy Hunting and may your finds be rewarding, no matter what there value!

ROVER UC (UnderCover)  BY OKM
I forgot to include the most important component, THE ANDROID PHONE. How many of you out there have an android cell phone like I do. HOW STABLE IS THE SOFTWARE RUNNING YOUR CELL PHONE??  Do your software applications ever crash-fail to install properly or like mine not operate as they are suppose too?? My Droid 3 phone made by Motorola is the touchiest phone I have ever owned.
