Capasitors  and resistors are  1/4  the cost in China than in the rest of the world . Labor is  1/4 the cost in China . etc . etc .   Now if you want to pay 4 times as much for the same  detector as the one made in China , be my guest !     Cornelius

I have a cheap chinese detector along the lines of what you have shown. and although it was cheap it works, however I have never found much deeper than than about 3 to 4 inches. The build quality is bit lacking however I have had mine for about a year and am still using the same 9v batteries i installed when it arrived. I dont believe that they will ever replace the minelabs as far as build quality etc. goes but for a beginner it is a good way to start. oh and I have seen the 4th ones in your post advertised on ebay in australia for less than $150 australian. Hello again downunder Trav , I think in 5 years or less we will see some impressive Metal Detectors from China , equivalent to Whites/Minelab for half the price !! There is only one disadvantage , Sending them overseas for Warranty work !!!  Shocked Shocked
Best Regards........................Eugene52

I have always been fascinated by metal detectors themselves than by finds.

For this reason, I'd never buy a chinese cheapo. I read some good field tests of some units, but even if they would match the quality and performance of well known brands, they would be just copies. Angry

That means the factory never made some research and development.

Not for me.

Plus Eugene is right about after sales service.

My humble opinion.

Thank you Cornelius. I too am about to buy a detector from China. I am going to start out with that and then move on to a better detector when I get better too.
