Well I quickly hit a few more tot lots this morning. Somebody has to be hitting these things hard around here. I found one dime that's it.
Went back the trashy grounds where the ring was lost. Found a bunch of clad from the mid 60s. Since the site is only 50 years old I don't expect to find anything much older. With 5+ ring signals per swing I am not sure I will ever even attempt to find the ring. If I could get some more info on where it was lost and norrow the search to maybe a 20 X 50 area I might dig the pull tabs.
I have a blister in the palm of my right hand from using the digger in that hard ground today. I have to get me a 5 X 5 t-handle to cut the plugs with.
I stopped by the Library and rented Texas Forgotten Ports Vol II (I can't find a copy to buy) and The History of Baytown by Margrett Swett Henson(These are going for $85 used).
I search for some W. T. Block books to purchase. Oh man they carry some hefty price tags!!
I also ordered the following books from Amazon. Ya know the funny thing is I have never been a reader, but I feel like I can't read enough now.
Buried Treasures of the Ozarks
W.C. Jameson
Buried Treasures of Texas
