Go Up Go Down

Introduced myself when joined the other day. Enjoy site. Where I live in Arkansas, where the White River and Mississippi River meet I live in a small farming community that my great grandfather help settle. On the White River at St Charles, 10 miles from farm, there was a big civil war boat battle. Union sank ours. It is common to find civil war items walking fields after being plowed each year. Have a spot in cypress where a clear water spring was used by every one to water there live stock at knight. Had to keep them hidden in daylight so Union troops could not take them. Spring location was also where summer community outings where held. The Trail of Tears passed 1\4 mile north of my property and where they settled I can see from my front porch. Lots of mounds in area. Have access to many more sites. Area has never been worked. Just thought this might be a good place to start MD. This is what started me thinking about MD. Any comments on idea and suggestions.

Sounds like a very good spot.  Be methodical and concentrate on searching small areas thoroughly.   With a site like that, documenting your finds could give them special value in the future.
