Any suggestions on a removable buoyancy modifier I could use on my Surfmaster. I read Eugene's suggestion of gluing a piece of tile to the bottom of the loop but I want something removable for ease of use in dry sand also. I was thinking of sewing up a piece of canvas that looks like a dounut filled with sand and using nylon wire ties to hold it to the top of the loop. The salt would probably eat the canvas in short order. There is a place near here that makes Corian counter tops. That stuff is moderately heavy although I don't know its buoyancy. Is is not too hard to cut. Maybe could make a horse shoe from it.......

Mudflap, maybe you could do something similar to that using either a piece of an old bike inner tube  (rubber cement the ends or clip them closed with a sliding plastic clip).....or better yet a piece of rubber hose (join the ends with a wooden dowel)

Turkey grit (farm supply house) in a zip locked bag works. Use plastic wire ties to lash it to the shaft. Quick and easy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
