Hi, Just picked up an old SAVO TREASUREMASTER as a starter unit. I hear it is a version of the WHITES BEACHCOMBER. Does anyone know any more about this MD, please advise? MANY THANKS.

Congratulations......I know you've been looking for a detector for quite a while now.   White's has always made good detectors.   Can't say I know much about either the beachcomber or SAVO, so I'll leave commenting on them to others.

Hope to see pictures of your first finds soon, even the junk ones since they're the ones that let you know you're doing something right.

BA

Hi BA, Waiting for it to arrive in the post in the next day or so. Got it on the bay at a good price but best of all, I hope, is that although it is a very old model it is supposed to be quite good. Can't wait to find out but the boat comes first just now. I'll keep you posted. SAVO ELECTRONICS was the name of the factory in Inverness, Scotland where they got the parts from WHITES in the USA and assembled the units here in Scotland. There still is a WHITES ELECTRONICS (UK) Ltd. in Inverness just 35 miles from Fort Augustus where they manufacture, assemble, sell and repair metal detectors to all over the world with the exception of the two Americas - North and South. I am excited by the prospect of trying it out when it arrives but can't wait to try it out in anger when I get a free day or so. Great to hear from you and thanks for the interest in my quest. I'll keep in touch and also keep you posted. All the best, Your Buddie, John.

How did you get on with the machine? I just picked one of these up cheap and not used it yet. Thanks.

Hi augusta, I have a savo buccaneer, but i dont know what voltage it works on. It just has two wires, red and black. I tried 9 volts and there is a faint signal, but not usable. Could you please tell me what voltage yours works on?
                       Regards, simon444

Thanks for that Augusta, I'll try again at the weekend. Oh, by the way I bought myself another Savo on Saturday from eBay. Its a Coinmaster, only cost £22 and its like new. That uses 2 9volt batteries, cant wait to get out and try it! Im going to try and get up to Helmsdale this summer and do a bit of gold panning and try detecting round there.

Hello Augusta,

I am about to buy a SAVO Coinmaster TR Discriminator model 4B, but I do not know where to find an instruction manual on the WEB. Where did you get it? Can you send me a copy by email?
Thank you very much.
