From the land of the Bluenose.....yesterday was a day off at least till I got the call and couldn't pass up a shift at time and a half so I made up for it today by hitting the major park in Halifax Central which is guarded by this old majestic building known locally as the armoury.

Nice day with a ton of folks walking here and there with some accompanied by their mobile munure makers. What was astonishing was that I was watched 4 dogs due the dew and each time the owner picked up. The odds of that happening are about as high as the Rockies beating the Soxs in the World Series!

Knew before I started that the place was a penny parade and true to my thoughts about the first 20 targets were all pennies followed by a bug. A shiny little silver ladybug.

Changed location to another part of the park by a ballfield and the penny thing again started with about the 10th target not being a penny but this nice pin. Found a similar one last summer.

Moved to another part of the park which is a playing field and did behind the goal posts and sidelines which proved to be a good move scoffing some loonies ($1 coin) and twoonies($2 coins)along with a dinkie that looked like it was in a demolition derby!

Back and hips told me it was time to call it a day after a quick trip to the Dingle for some shore sifting which netted a few coppers and a George V quarter that was too toasty to read the date(would be between 1911 and 1936) and a button with a crest of some sort on it of an older variety with a little gold gilt left on it.

Total for the day was a silver quarter, silver ring, dinkie, button and 102 coins @$12.86

Last night I went and got what the doctor told me was my last new med. Read the label and the side effects were; blood in the bowels...no problem, could led to ulcers....I'll suck it up and no "Bud".......man that is cruel and unnatural punishment so when I took my daughter out for wings it was soda pop. Kind of neat escorting two hotties out to the Oakmout Station where my shift from work meets on paydays!

Nice finds!!! Really like the ladybug ring. Any idea how old that might be? The
pin was another interesting find.
