Hello coincounter75 , and welcome again to this Great Forum !!! Since skiers do not always carry a lot of stuff when they ski . I made a list of places to check at the Ski Area or Resort . Of course you will need a Good VLF that is Great on Coins and Jewelry !!

1. Check for coins all around any Outdoor Ski-Lift Ticket Booth
2. Check for coins all around any Outdoor Food / Concession Stand
3. Under picnic Tables [this is where you really test discrimination on tin-foil and trash]
4. This is the hardest of All !!! Checking for Gold Rings , bracelets , necklaces at the top or bottom of the slope where skiers may adjust their boots/bindings or skis . And you may want to use a Whites or any brand that you can sweep fast because you have a huge area to cover !!! Shocked Shocked........ Great........ Waveing..........Best Regards............Eugene52

By chance, the MD club that I belong to just had a member talking bout the same thing. If I remember correctly he and his wife targeted the parking lot saying that as the snow is plowed to the sides for parking the treasure goes with it and has found some nice things as well as money. They also targeted direclty under the ski lift as far up as they could go and has found more than dropped ski's. They made a point of hitting the bottom area of the slope, saying that as the snow melts and gravity takes effect that the treasures go with it. I do remember him stating that at one resort which had mostly young college crowd type visitors that he's even found 6-packs and cases of beer buried near the bottom by people probably trying to sneak beer onto the slope or just have it near-by, whatever the case they either forgot it or couldn't find it again. anyway, he said tween the watches, expensive name brand sun glasses/goggles, rings, coins and paper money that they do pretty ok each season. I hope that was of some help anyway.

You should bes try to hunt right under the ski lifts. That's the best areas to find lost watches etc. Good luck!
