I'm new here so I hope this works.
I use a small detector I found at Harbor Freight, cost $17.00 or less if on sale. I use it to pinpoint things I pick up on my large detector. I'm new so this may have been already posted.

They work pretty good=for the money they are OK= just don't get too rough or aggressive with it, theyr'e not too rugged, but will do the job Great

i use the garett pinpointer.....use it every week-end and have nothing but praise
for it...to me its worth the money. can also use as a surface scanner...mine picks
up signal to about 4 inches. also has built in light for seeing in dim or total
darkness.

I had the harbor freight pin pointer and used it for 3 years.  It does as it should and detects to about 1 inch or 1.5 inches.  It still cuts down on digging time.
