Go Up Go Down

This is a place near my home in the river. It works like a giant sifter. All the heavy objects tend to fall out and get stuck in the ridges and cracks. Its a great place to find stuff. Mainly lead fishing weights. I have found several coins the oldest only being a 1955 wheat tail but if new coins get caught there I'm sure old ones have too.. I'm sure there is older stuff caught in the cracks here its just going to take more time to find it. I found a really old pocket knife. The wooden handle almost looks like it turned to coal.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
