it's not quite that simple, Cani.   All things being equal (size, shape, angle to the soil, type of soil, etc) the heavier one probably will  sink quicker----but which is going to sink faster in open water, a 30 pound rock or a 30 ton water tight vessel?  Or let's take 2 3 ounce pieces of metal, one shaped like a bowl (with the rounded end down and the opening to the top) and one that is a solid cube.
