Go Up Go Down

Today June 30th of 2011 it's been a year since I began metal detecting and treasure hunting. Too much has happened in the past months, I've had the good, the bad, and the ugly. First of all, I like to thank the crew of THunting for so much knowledge shared. To all of you thank you, thank you, thank you. Pray I have learned a lot from you, but still have a long way to go. I've made many good friends here, that although I've not met in person, I consider my forum friends.  Waveing I have learned a lot from their expertise and experiences, too.

Tomorrow begins a new year for me and I hope to double, triple, or quadruple the good experiences and knowledge gained this year. Well, indeed it's 8 months for Chicago's weather does not allow for a full year. In those months of MDing and THing on and off, I was able to accomplish some things I wanted and discovered new things I was not aware of.

As far as the increased capital I obtained thru my huntings, I'm glad to say that it is too much to list here: lots of clad, silver coins and jewelry, gold jewelry, fashion jewelry, old coins, bullets, tools, tokens, toys, bottles, iron relics, railroad relics, vintage glassware, artifacts from the good old times, and of course lots of pull tabs, bottle caps, aluminum cans, and other trash.

Tomorrow I began with a new and refined attitude toward this great world of metal detecting and treasure hunting. I hope to continue sharing my finds and seek your expertise as needed. Happy to be here and love THunting  Kiss HH

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I think there's a rule somewhere that says you must post your annual finds Police

Thanks Seldom. Every time I find some bottle, jars, or glassware, I say Seldom needs to see this and give me some feedback  Wink

Thanks. Oh my Goodness, do they allow for that here?  Grin I'd need to post many pics. My wife already told me that I need some storage and a lab for my messy electrolysis  Embarrassed
But. . .
1. $400+ in clad
2. 3 pieces of gold jewelry
3. 18 silver rings
4. 29 silver coins: dimes, quarters, and halves, (one 1877-CC Liberty Seated dime)
5. 5 buffalos (one ruined with electrolysis)
6. About 100 wheaties
7. 2 Indian Heads cents (one 1880)
8. A number of bottles, dishware, and glassware in the woods and at thrift stores
9. Rairoad and other iron relics stuff
10. A bunch of smashed coins (love those)
11. A bunch of tokens, including a nice 1934 Union Pacific Lucky Piece
12. Dirt cheap vintage tools at garage sales,
13. and some other miscellaneous stuff.

Love this hobby!  Wink
