Does someone have a link to currency conversion(or explanation) website??? I'm getting confused with all the different terms.

The half crown was a British coin equivalent to 2/6d that's 2 shillings and sixpence. The crown was = to 5 bob or 5 shillings sometimes referred to as a dollar, because 5 bob used to be a quarter of a pound and the exchange rate at that time was 4 American dollars to the pound.
Hope this doesn't confuse you further Steve.

With friendly greetings,
Ian & Eileen

Ian and Eillen:

Thanks for the explanation. You make it sound so simple. I guess it's easy to figure it out if you were brought up on that system. It just takes us other people from across the pond a little extra time to figure it out. Grin Grin

Likewise with us, relating to your coinage.
Forgot to say the half crown was also known as a half dollar.

But hey, that's half the fun.

With friendly greetings from Bonnie Scotland,
Ian & Eileen
