after cleaning out my front yard of a bunch of nice coins I havent been making the great finds but a couple weeks ago I thought I hit the jackpot.... went to an old home place the house is gone but the outhouse is still standing about 20 feet from the outhouse I hit a signal showed it as a dollar coin on my ace 350 about 4" deep after digging down about 8" I found the top to a mason jar it was as if it had been buried with the jar below it but unfortunately there was no glass or coins or gold or anything under the lid but it was still exciting LOL I have been out there another time and found like 20 more of the mason jar lids found out when they came out with a newer version of the lids most people just threw their old ones out I am waiting to hit some other great places till my wife gets a metal detector but I have several other places to hit I will post my finds

Finding the mason jar lids is exciting yes. I have found many lids myself, but not with cash. But one of these days??? I know for a fact there still out there!! There was one found in my step-sons back yard. The story is written under storytellers. Don't forget to check out this weeks contest!

I suppose if you had a large enough one (or your Free Mason was deceased and cremated) you could keep a mason in one.
