I turned a corner a little fast one day and upset the stuff in the back of my van so I pulled into a small park to fix things.  I had not been there 5 minutes when a cop pulled in and started asking all kinds of questions, like name what are you doing here and so.  Seems a little girl had seen a man pull into the park in a van and stop.  She went running home and told Mom who called the police.  The cop admitted it was to bad parents have made their kids so scared of everyone.

I agree with everybody. The safety of the children is priority 1. I like people looking out for each others kids & I do.

But, on the other hand...

It seems to me, if someone thinks a child is being harmed, they should at least find out the facts.

If someone would have approach me, it would be obvious we were father and daughter.

It should have been obvious.
I mean I wasn't dragging her into the woods or carrying her in a rolled up carpet.
We were laughing and telling jokes.

I guess thats the world we live in.  Embarrassed

Enjoy them when they are small as they grow to fast.  I'm now raising my Grandson and he is already 14.  The world has changed and it's sad in a lot of ways but do your best to spend time with her you just never know what will happen.

This original thread was about police call on a harmless act of going detecting with  his daughter!

Back to the Subject!   I live on the the New Mexican Border and get accosted by the Border Patrol all the time.

Do I Like it? Hell No!

I live 30 miles from the Border and the Patrol hits me any time I stop my truck.  Hell if you just drive down HW9 Your going to get stopped.  Ive been stopped three times within a hour.  You would think they talk to each other to say who is coming or going down the road.  NO!!!!!!!!

People have just gone SUPID after 911!!
